Federal authorities detained more than 100 individuals suspected of being in the United States without legal authorization during a large-scale raid at an illegal after-hours nightclub in Colorado Springs in late April 2025. The operation, led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in coordination with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), is part of a broader immigration enforcement strategy under President Donald Trump’s administration.
The nightclub had been under investigation for months due to suspected drug trafficking, prostitution, and violent criminal activity. DEA officials reported that cocaine and firearms were found at the scene. Over 300 law enforcement personnel were involved in the raid, which targeted what officials described as a hub of illegal activity.
Among the more than 200 individuals present during the raid, over 100 were taken into custody based on immigration-related alleged violations. Authorities did not specify the detainees’ countries of origin. In addition, a dozen active-duty military members – some working security – were also detained, and several others were arrested on outstanding warrants.
This action follows a pattern of intensified immigration enforcement since Trump returned to office. The administration has invoked rarely used laws, including the 18th-century Alien Enemies Act, to accelerate deportations. However, earlier this month, a federal judge in Colorado temporarily halted deportations under that law.
DEA Special Agent Jonathan Pullen said the raid was intended to dismantle criminal operations and improve public safety, emphasizing the presence of undocumented individuals as a key concern. The event reflects a continued shift toward aggressive immigration enforcement at both national and local levels.
