I have regularly assessed the issues arising from a mobility or compliance perspective for universities, businesses, investors, and entrepreneurs.  I characterize myself more as a thoughtful, creative, and diligent lawyer who gets the job done, rather than a “thought leader”  My goal is more modest: to provide you with the information and analysis that allows you to pursue a successful outcome in the face of your ever-evolving U.S. immigration challenges.” Specifically:

Charles practices exclusively US immigration and nationality law and has extensive experience in assisting employers gain temporary and permanent visas for investors, academic, business, artistic, scientific and executive personnel. Charles has broad experience with PERM labor certification (regular and special handling) programs. He also advises businesses on all areas pertaining to immigration compliance matters.

Charles has managed immigration programs while representing Fortune 500 companies, as well as smaller organizations and startup companies. He has provided counsel to clients across a variety of industries, including universities, professional services, finance, aerospace, biotechnology, arts and entertainment, engineering, IT and others. He is conversant with cross border issues involving the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

He has met employers’ US immigration needs from both a strategic and compliance perspective. Accordingly, Charles has provided counsel to corporations on the immigration implications of corporate reorganization, including I-9 employment eligibility verification, corporate restructuring and reductions in force. He has lectured on business immigration law before both industry groups and professional organizations in the United States, Europe, Mexico and Canada. As a lawyer Charles is committed to using his knowledge and skills both to assist US employers in obtaining employment authorization for their foreign workers and to support immigrants and non-immigrants in achieving their goal of a better life in the United States.
