Biography

Sreedhar “Sree” Jayaraman is a litigator representing individuals in removal proceedings before the nation’s immigration courts. His advocacy also extends to representing clients before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) on various applications for immigration benefits. Before USCIS, he has appeared on behalf of clients seeking lawful permanent residency, naturalization, employment authorization, and various non-immigrant visas. 

As the son of immigrants from India, Mr. Jayaraman is intimately familiar with the immigrant experience and the example of his family early on, nurtured a deep appreciation for the many opportunities and privileges that the United States has to offer. From an early age he volunteered with Catholic Charities Refugee and Immigration Services resettlement and ESL programs and would later help consult on the development of urban organic fruit and vegetable gardens for local Memphis communities.

Prior to joining Gonzalez Olivieri, LLC, Mr. Jayaraman associated with his father, attorney K. Jayaraman in his native Tennessee, representing clients before USCIS on similar immigrant and non-immigrant visa and permanent residency matters. He also assisted with representation of defendants in federal criminal proceedings before the U.S. Federal District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.

Mr. Jayaraman also associated with Ralston, Buchanan, PLLC. in representing consumer debtors in a wide range of bankruptcy matters before the regional U.S. Bankruptcy Courts. During his time there, he was tasked with supervising development of bankruptcy petitions, challenging creditor claims, avoidance of judgment liens, creditor/debtor negotiations, and adversarial. He additionally aided with the firm's civil consumer advocacy litigation, assisting counsel of record on a number of private debt defense and consumer protection cases at the state and federal level.

During his time in law school, he was an intern with both the Federal Public Defender's Office and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee's Office for the Western District of Tennessee and was admitted for limited practice in representing clients in development of Installment Agreement and Offer in Compromise requests before the U.S Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”).

Mr. Jayaraman's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Memphis, and he earned his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Mississippi Robert C. Khayat School of Law with a concentration in business law. He is admitted to the bar for the District of Columbia as well as before the U.S. Federal District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.
